Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence and the Month of the Prophet’s Birth, Ahlulbait Indonesia (ABI) Distributes Donations for Palestine

In this national atmosphere, the Chairman of the Ahlulbait Indonesia (ABI) Central Board, Ustadz Zahir Yahya, announced that throughout August 2025, ABI has dispatched humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people to the people of Palestine as a concrete manifestation of cross-border solidarity and brotherhood.

"Alhamdulillah, all praise be to Allah for the blessing of independence upon the Indonesian state and nation, Ahlulbait Indonesia has once again been entrusted to distribute donations from the Indonesian people to our brothers and sisters in Palestine," stated Ustadz Zahir Yahya.

Ustadz Zahir Yahya detailed that the aid distribution in August 2025 was carried out in three primary stages:

1. Water of Life in Jabalia

On 17 August 2025, coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence, ABI distributed 25,000 litres of drinking water. This aid was delivered to residents in the Jabalia area of the Gaza Strip, who have endured a clean water crisis for months.

2. The Smiles of Children in Tulkarem

On 26 August 2025, which coincided with the birth month of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as), another distribution was held. ABI provided 100 packages of basic food supplies and 100 packages containing school bags and stationery to the families of martyrs, prisoners, and Palestinian refugees in Tulkarem, West Bank. The aid was met with smiles from Palestinian children, who remain eager to learn despite their circumstances.

3. Solidarity Meals in Gaza

Concluding the month of August, in late August 2025, ABI extended further humanitarian assistance by distributing 500 meal portions to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

"We are all heartened to see the families and children in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, who are currently suffering from shortages of food, drinking water, and other essential necessities, smile with happiness upon receiving their meals, water, and basic needs," expressed Ustadz Zahir Yahya.

A Record of ABI's Consistency

Elaborating further, Ustadz Zahir Yahya explained that as of August 2025, ABI has conducted humanitarian aid distributions to Palestine across 14 separate stages since the initiative was launched on 8 November 2023.

"Insya Allah (God willing), our distribution agenda will not cease here. We are committed to continually supporting the Palestinian people with all the resources at our disposal. Merdeka Palestina! (Free Palestine!)" he affirmed.

Solidarity That Transcends Borders

This humanitarian initiative demonstrates that the independence celebrated by Indonesia is not confined to symbols and ceremony but is embodied through tangible solidarity with other nations still striving for liberation from occupation.

Just as the Indonesian people did 80 years ago, the people of Palestine are equally entitled to the same rights: to be free, sovereign, and dignified. The aid delivered by ABI is not merely logistical support but also carries a moral message that justice, freedom, and humanity are universal legacies.
