Ahlulbait Indonesia Condemns the Massacre of the Alawi Community in Syria, Calls for Immediate International Intervention
ABI Chairman Zahir Yahya expressed deep concern over the widespread violence, which has resulted in significant civilian casualties, the destruction of residential areas, and the forced displacement of local communities. "These heinous acts represent crimes against humanity that must not be tolerated. We urge the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take decisive and immediate measures to halt this atrocity and protect innocent civilians," he stated in an official communiqué.

ABI further calls upon the Government of Indonesia to adopt a principled and resolute stance by denouncing all forms of violence without prejudice and advocating for a peaceful resolution grounded in justice and human rights. The organization also urges the government to actively engage in diplomatic efforts to facilitate humanitarian assistance for the affected populations.

At the international level, ABI underscores the urgency of an independent inquiry under the auspices of the United Nations to investigate these egregious violations and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under international law. The organization also endorses judicial proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against perpetrators of these crimes. "Ensuring justice for the victims is imperative to upholding the rule of law and preventing further atrocities," Zahir emphasized.

Given the deteriorating security situation in Syria, particularly the increasing threats against minority communities—including Christians and various ethnic groups—ABI reaffirms that all individuals have an inherent right to safety, dignity, and freedom from discrimination. In this regard, ABI strongly advocates for inclusive national dialogue and reconciliation efforts to mitigate hostilities and prevent further escalation of the conflict.

ABI remains hopeful that this crisis will be swiftly resolved, allowing Syria to restore peace and stability for all its people. The organization also calls upon the international community to strengthen humanitarian assistance and diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending violence and fostering sustainable peace in the region.
