Iran: US Bombing Campaign Against Yemen Doomed to Failure
During a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty on Saturday, Araqchi condemned Israel's renewed attacks on the Gaza Strip as well as obstruction of humanitarian aid delivery to the Palestinian territory as a flagrant violation of a January ceasefire.

He called for an urgent global action against the Israeli escalation in West Asia.

The top diplomat also condemned the American and British attacks, emphasizing that war against Yemen is definitely doomed to failure.

Israel has shattered a nearly two-month ceasefire in Gaza with a relentless wave of bombardments after imposing a renewed blockade on the Palestinian territory. More than 700 people, including about 200 children, have been killed in the renewed attacks.

As Israeli soldiers pressed deeper into Gaza, Israeli military aircraft continued a ferocious bombardment of the besieged enclave.

Tel Aviv announced the Israeli Army had been ordered to "seize more territory in Gaza", warning that the more Hamas "refuses" to let go of the remaining captives in one batch, "the more territory it will lose, which will be annexed by Israel".

Israel stressed it resumed its attacks after Hamas failed to agree to a new version of a ceasefire. Israeli authorities wanted an extension of the first phase of the three-phase truce and the release of most of the 59 remaining captives in Gaza – of which about two dozen are believed to be alive – without committing to end the war.

The Palestinian group has stressed that it wanted to stick to the original accord signed in January, according to which the two sides should have started negotiations on the second phase of the accord, which would address the release of the remaining captives, the withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from the enclave and a permanent cessation of hostilities.

Israel’s 18-month war on Gaza has killed a confirmed more than 50,000 people and injured over 113,000, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry. The Government Media Office has updated the death toll to at least 62,000 people, saying thousands who were missing under the rubble are now presumed dead.

The military campaign has turned much of the enclave of 2.3 million people into ruins, leaving most civilians homeless and at risk of famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.

Meanwhile, the US targeted Yemen with waves of strikes since last Saturday, and the country's armed forces declared they will escalate their attacks, including on Israel, in response. The US raids have killed dozens of people.

US President Donald Trump has vowed to "completely annihilate" Ansarullah (also known as the Houthis), upon whose leader’s orders Yemen has resumed the strikes following Israel’s re-launcing of its war of genocide against the Gaza Strip.

In response, Yemen's Armed Forces have conducted multiple military operations targeting the American naval assets.

Abdelatty, for his part, stressed the need for containing the escalation in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen.

He also emphasized “the urgent need to restore calm, avoid further violence, and solidify the ceasefire in Gaza".

The top Egyptian diplomat further highlighted “the importance of restraint during this critical period and warned against actions that could worsen the already volatile situation in the region".
