Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi stated that the group demands a comprehensive ceasefire deal with Israel, rejecting any partial agreements that could allow the war to resume. He emphasized that Hamas seeks an agreement guaranteeing a complete end to the war, full Israeli withdrawal, relief for Gaza’s people, and reconstruction efforts, backed by international guarantees.
Hamas officials confirmed that a delegation would meet Egyptian mediators in Cairo to discuss a long-term truce. They stressed that the resistance’s weapons are non-negotiable and highlighted Hamas’s willingness to agree to a one-time prisoner exchange and a five-year truce if it leads to a definitive end to the conflict, not just temporary calm.
Meanwhile, Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has killed at least 51,355 Palestinians and injured over 117,000, with thousands more trapped under rubble. Despite international calls for a ceasefire and measures to prevent genocide, Israeli attacks continue relentless.
