Yemeni Missile Triggers Sirens in Tel Aviv, Shuts Ben Gurion Airport

The Israeli military claimed it intercepted one projectile fired towards Israeli territory from Yemen, without providing proof.

Sirens wailed across Tel Aviv, al‑Quds and Netanya, according to the Israeli Home Front Command.

Local media also reported hearing successive explosions in central occupied territories. 

All flights at Ben Gurion Airport were suspended following the attack.

No official statement has yet been issued by the Yemeni military.

Nasr al‑Din Amer, a senior official in Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, said Israel “did not listen to the voice of the Arab summit and paid no attention to it.”

He added: “Now, this is the voice that is heard — the explosions echoing deep inside the Zionist entity.

This is the language that the entity understands, and it is mastered by the men of God in Yemen.”

Ansarullah has repeatedly warned it would retaliate against Israeli brutal war in the Palestinian territories and against Yemen itself since October 2023.

The resistance group has also imposed naval and aerial blockades that have raised the costs of goods into Israel and struck Ben Gurion Airport on multiple occasions.

In response, Israel has carried out intensified air strikes against Yemen, but Ansarullah vowed to continue its operations “as long as the regime persists with its genocidal campaign and siege of Gaza.”
