Iran’s Parliament Holds Closed-Door Session with Security Officials
The non-public session of the Parliament was held on Wednesday morning, chaired by Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

The closed-door meeting was attended by Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Madanizadeh, Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri Qezelje, Head of the Planning and Budget Organization Hamid Poormohammadi, as well as a number of security officials, including Command of FARAJA Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan.

In recent weeks, Iran has witnessed protests in several cities following the depreciation of the national currency and a sharp rise in inflation, which have put growing pressure on household livelihoods.

The increase in prices of essential goods and basic commodities has fueled dissatisfaction, prompting the administration to adopt measures aimed at easing economic strain, including raising subsidies for the purchase of basic necessities.

The economic challenges, compounded by sanctions and fiscal pressures, have made cost-of-living concerns a central issue in domestic policy discussions.
