Ghalibaf Debunks Trump Lies on Hormuz, Agreement
US President Donald Trump made a series of false claims within a short period of time, all of which are untrue, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Saturday.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf asserted that “with these lies, they did not win the war, and they will certainly not achieve any result in negotiations either.”

Ghalibaf also stated that “as long as the blockade continues, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open,” noting that “transit through the Strait of Hormuz will take place according to the ‘specified route’ and with ‘Iran’s permission.’”

He stressed that “the opening or closing of the strait and the laws governing it are determined on the ground, not on social media platforms.”

He further said that “media warfare and public opinion engineering are an important part of the war, and the Iranian people will not be affected by these methods. You can refer to the true and accurate news of the negotiations in the latest interview of the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump had said that Iran had agreed to fully open the “Iran Strait” (Strait of Hormuz), describing it as ready for full passage, but noted that the maritime blockade on Iranian ports would remain in place “until our deal with them is completed 100%,” expecting the process to proceed “at extremely high speed.”

Trump's series of lies

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event earlier, US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz has been declared fully open, adding that progress is being made toward a broad understanding between the United States and Iran covering nuclear-related issues and regional security matters.

Trump said the development “will be a great and brilliant day for the world,” adding that Iran has announced the Strait of Hormuz is “fully open and ready for business and full passage.”

Trump asserted that a US naval blockade would remain in place against Iran until what he described as a “transaction” is fully completed and signed. He also said that most terms in ongoing negotiations with Tehran have already been agreed upon, adding that the process “should go very quickly.”

He further claimed that “the USA will get all nuclear dust,” asking rhetorically, “You know what the nuclear dust is? That was that white powdery substance created by our B-2 bombers—those great B-2 bombers—late one evening.” He added that no financial exchange would take place in any agreement and said Iran would be involved in retrieving and transporting the material to the United States.

Trump also stated that Iran, with US assistance, is removing or has removed sea mines, reiterating his position that Tehran “will never have a nuclear weapon.” He described what he called a joint operation involving heavy excavation equipment, saying the United States and Iran would work together to recover materials and send them to the US.

On regional issues, Trump said the US-Iran understanding is not linked to Lebanon, but claimed Washington intends to help stabilize the country, stating, “we will make Lebanon great again,” while describing the Lebanese population as having endured “a very difficult period for a long time.”

He also suggested that the “situation involving Hezbollah” could be resolved soon, saying he had “ended eight wars,” and adding that including Iran and Lebanon could bring the total to ten, which he claimed would represent “many, many millions of lives saved.”
