Iranian security forces have carried out recent operations resulting in the arrest of more than 100 individuals linked to terrorist groups, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan said on Sunday.
According to Radan, authorities seized over 3,000 weapons, along with large quantities of live ammunition and bladed weapons, during the operations. Around 6,000 surveillance devices and espionage tools were also confiscated, and suspects connected to them were detained.
"Our soldiers are on the borders, fully equipped, with their hands on the trigger,” he added.
Radan highlighted that the current security environment places increased importance on military and border readiness. He stressed that enemy actions targeting military infrastructure reflect its strategic significance.
Iranian authorities continue to emphasize strengthening border protection and maintaining stability through expanded operations and coordinated security measures.
IRGC arrests 69 US, 'Israel'-linked agents in Mazandaran
Yesterday, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the arrest of 69 agents linked to the United States and "Israel" in Mazandaran province.
According to a statement, the network had been working to gather and transmit sensitive information on strategic sites while preparing acts of sabotage inside Iranian territory. Security forces reportedly acted following precise intelligence monitoring and surveillance operations.
Authorities also confirmed the seizure of firearms, bladed weapons, and advanced communication equipment, including internet reception devices used to relay information to hostile intelligence services.
The operation forms part of a broader nationwide effort to dismantle foreign-backed espionage and sabotage networks. Earlier this month, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 17 agents in West Azerbaijan province in a separate operation, accusing them of working with US and Israeli-linked entities to undermine the country’s security environment. Authorities said the arrests were carried out following surveillance of cross-border communication channels and suspected infiltration routes in the northwest.
